Guillaume Fogarty-Greenshaw
Guillaume, originally from Edmonton, Alberta, embarked on his legal journey after a diverse career path. Following his graduation from Strathcona Composite High School in 2008, he worked in the construction trades for several years before earning his Bachelor of Arts degree in 2016. In 2021, Guillaume attained his Juris Doctor from the University of Alberta. He went on to complete his articles with Legal Aid Alberta. Guillaume was called to the bars of both Alberta and British Columbia in 2022.
In September 2022, Guillaume relocated to Victoria to commence his legal practice. He joined Brooke A. MacLeod Law in July 2023.
Guillaume’s passion for family law blossomed during his time at the University of Alberta. Chosen by his peers to serve as Family Law Project Coordinator at Student Legal Services of Edmonton (SLS), Guillaume supervised over 100 student volunteers and provided pro bono legal assistance to marginalized members of society. Remarkably, he conducted a multi-day family law trial, with expert testimony, during his second year of law school. While at SLS, Guillaume primarily worked on family law files, but also aided clients in navigating residential tenancy and employment law disputes.
Since his admission to the bar, Guillaume has amassed extensive experience in parenting, financial support, property division, family violence, and child protection matters, appearing regularly in Supreme and Provincial Court. Recognizing the value of alternative dispute resolution, he fervently pursues out-of-court solutions while advocating tirelessly for his clients' interests.
Beyond the courtroom, Guillaume channels his passion for hands-on work into DIY projects. He also enjoys canoeing, cycling, and cherishing moments with his son, partner, and the family dog.
